| Great Summer Swimsuits By: Caitlin Emmons Guess what ladies, it is that time again: Swim Season! But what does every summer diva need before she can hit the beach or the pool party? A great, comfortable, and affordable swimsuit! Here are a few of our top picks for this summer. Gap's "Essential Keyhole One-Piece" comes in solid colors and cute polka dot patterns. It is a must have that is both flattering and classy. I would recommend the geometric patterns, but like all things it comes with a higher price tag than the solids. This one rings in at $31.88 on sale online. If that is out of our budget, keep in mind that a simple suit is a necessity for every one, too! The solid suits are on sale now for only $16.99! If a one piece isn't your style but you aren't down with baring it all, try a tankini! The best swim tip I have ever gotten is to mix and match, it is cuter and saves a ton of money. Find a top you like, and get a plain bottom. My favorite top this season is Delia's "heart tankini." It comes in four different colors, all of which scream summer lovin'! My personal favorite was the black with rainbow hearts, the black can have the sleek effect while you keep it cool with lots of hearts. Best part is, with such a busy top you can afford to just get cheap black bottoms! And now to my favorite new suit this summer, the bandeau, excuse my french. Fashion glossaries define this one as a band-like strip of cloth that binds around the bust; also called a 'top tube', I define it as cute, cute, cute! Because these use less material than a tankini, I would recommend getting matching patterns for both the top and the bottom. Target online has a huge selection of these attention grabbing pieces. I am all about patterns, and what is better than plaid? While plaid is generally reserved for the colder months, this year it is making a summer come back. Xhilaration's "plaid bandeau with ruffles" meets all my requirements for cute clothing. It has heart- shaped buttons, ruffles, and covers all the necessary areas. And now for the most important tips for the summer and swimsuit buying. First, buy a suit you like and like yourself in, not just one that everyone is wearing. There is nothing worse than not enjoying those pool parties because your suit just ain't you! And don't forget the sunscreen, it is really the best accessory to every suit! |
