AMG's New Year's Resolutions

Compiled by: Emily Long

New year, new you? AMG's writers share their resolution for the new
year. Wish us luck in keeping them!

Eunice Kim
Next year, I plan to involve myself in homeless outreach programs
around my school in Massachusetts. I've already been involved in my
hometown Los Angeles and what kept me going were the staggering
homelessness rates in places like Skid Row. I've always held the
prejudice that LA is the worst it can get, and I assumed that everything
was all flowers and rainbows in New England. But I plan to involve
myself more in Boston and in the Pioneer Valley and figure out for
myself that poverty exists everywhere.

Lydia Clark
My New Year's aspiration is to be the best person that I can be at work,
school, and in all of my daily and personal activities. I want to continue
to help and inspire others.

Clarissa Wong
My resolution is to read more everyday to improve my writing.

Sarah Cushing
Here is my resolution: To document accomplishments and important
moments of 2009 in a creativity journal.

Isabella Hecht
I resolve to stop making New Years' resolutions that I can't follow.

Caitlin Emmons
I plan to not hold grudges against people for the things they do/say to
me.

Emily Long
I plan to have an open mind and continue to experiment with my
activities, interests, and passions-who knows where the path will lead
me?

Deborah Murad
Rather than a resolution, I like to come up with a motto to help guide
my year.  This year my motto will be "BE BETTER." In other words, try
hard to do what ever I have to do better, without complaint and in a
timely manner.

Nicola Pioppi
My goal for this year is to become a daylight vegetarian, to help protect
our earth and our animals while still occasionally enjoying a quality
cheeseburger.

Sarah Chaisson Warner
I resolve to be more giving of my time and money - whether it be to
charity, spending more time playing with my dogs, or squeezing in a
little extra time to talk with friends, even when my day seems to be
swamped.
