December's Featured College:
Northwestern University

Northwestern University is located in Evanston, Illinois, about 12 miles north
of downtown Chicago. Home to nearly 8,000 undergraduates (and many more
graduate students!) Northwestern is known throughout the country for its
strong academic programs and the wide range of student activities offered.

Incoming first-year students may choose from over 80 areas of concentration
(or majors). And if school work doesn't keep you busy enough, there are over
250 campus organizations and clubs, from a capella singing groups to student
government, international clubs to student newspapers, religious and spiritual
organizations, and everything in between!

Most incoming first-year students live in
doubles in residence halls, and live on a
meal plan. Students may choose to live in
co-ed or single sex residence calls.
Northwestern also has a variety of dining
venues for students on the meal plan,
including traditional cafeterias and
on-the-go eateries.

Interested in sports and recreation? Northwestern University offers both
varsity-level sports and just-for-fun teams! Women's varsity sports include
volleyball, basketball, golf, tennis, swimming and diving, and many more.

You may be reading this article and thinking, "Wow, this sounds great. But
how much does it cost?" It's no secret that the cost of a four-year college
education has been on the rise. Northwestern lists its tuition costs at $35,064
per year. Factor in room and board, food, books, transportation, and personal
costs, and you are looking at a whopping $49,379 per year.

But fear not! On Northwestern's website, you can learn more about financing
your college career. The financial aid office claims that many students receive
financial aid in the form of a combination of student loans, grants, and
work-study assistance.
