On behalf of AMG's staff, I am so pleased to announce the results of our
third annual "Athena's All-stars" search! We searched nationwide for
young women making a difference, and we were amazed by the
outstanding nominations we received. Here are our top teens - the new
crew of role models for girls everywhere! Please scroll down to see the

Kaeleigh - 17 - San Leandro, CA

To put it simply, Kaeleigh is an extraordinarily well-rounded young
woman. She excels in academics, athletics, community service, and
extra-curricular activities! She carried a high school GPA of 4.3 and a
community college GPA of 4.0. She is on track to graduate high school
with 3 Associate degrees - Liberal Studies, Behavioral/Social Science,
and Anthropology. She plans to transfer to a university in Europe and
study to become a Marine Biologist. She is also  the field captain of the
Varsity Track & Field Team and has ranked in the league top 3 in shot
put and discus since Freshman year. She has also played softball,
volleyball, basketball, and was one of only two girls in the flag football
program. Kaeleigh currently has over 1600 community service hours
logged on the President's Volunteer Service Awards website. She
sponsors troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan wherein she sends
monthly care packages, correspondence, and cookies.
Veronica - 14 - North Port, FL

Veronica is a testament to the fact that American teen girls have both
substance and style.  A self-professed bookworm and fashion lover, she
is smart, funny, caring, and beautiful. At the nationally ranked public
high school she attends, Veronica is an A student with a voracious
appetite for learning.  Among other things, she studies Mandarin
Chinese and went to China this summer for a month-long study abroad
program at Nanjing University.  Of Cuban and Puerto Rican descent,
she is also fluent in Spanish. A dedicated volunteer since the age of 10,
Veronica was recently awarded a Bronze Medal through the Presidential
Volunteer Service Award program for work at an area elementary
school and through a local conservation group called People for Trees.
This past school year, she also founded a continuing book drive project
called The Open Book Bag, which collects and distribute books to needy
children through existing literacy charities and groups.
Samah - 16 - Manchester, NH

Samah is a beautiful, caring person invested fully in humanity.  She
spends her weekends volunteering for various charities and has been an
active member of a local volunteer group for teens. Samah is quick to
offer a hand to anyone who needs it, is affable, and very intelligent.  She
speaks Arabic fluently and is learning several other languages, including
Chinese and Spanish. She is also very involved in civic affairs - she
believes strongly in ensuring that everyone has an equal voice in
politics and policymaking and has worked to increase women's voter
engagement in her hometown.
Erinn - 17 - Richmond, VA

Erinn has been involved with Girls Quest, a non-profit organization
providing learning and growth opportunities to girls from New York
City, since she was 9 years old. At that time she lived in the Bronx. At 14
she became a Teen Leader at Girls Quest and her family moved to
Virginia. In high school she majored in communications and graduated
with an Advanced Diploma. It was important to Erinn that she stay
involved with Girls Quest,  and she spent many of her weekends, school
holidays and vacations traveling to New York to participate in
activities. She is currently president of the Teen Leader Council.  Erinn
will be attending the Virgina Commonwealth University in the fall,
where she plans on majoring in mass communications with a
concentration in advertising.
